Unemployment benefit II recipients can, under certain conditions, receive unemployment benefit for the purpose of promoting after setting up a business or for promoting participation in social security contributions. Admission is a discretionary exercise. Jobseekers who receive unemployment benefits cannot apply for a business start-up grant (but the entry fee for unemployment benefit II from the job center) at an employment agency when setting up a business. Unemployment benefit II recipients receive, in addition to the admission fee, additional grants for self-employment or self-employment for the procurement of operating resources. §16cSGB II gives a more detailed overview of the social integration benefits of the self-employed. This includes grants of up to EUR 5000.
